There are probably so many other options I was not aware of being in such touristy areas. The banana leaves would have been a great option. All the best for your trip :)Erin Rhoadshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13225185498560687113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9033465662037447681.post-30807233050042952112015-12-19T08:38:02.900+11:002015-12-19T08:38:02.900+11:00Thanks Erin! Regarding trying local snack food, sometimes people sell homemade snacks wrapped in banana leaves on the street. Maybe that would have been an option. Thanks for your article!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00441259325350726800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9033465662037447681.post-23057272488791565652015-02-11T15:02:43.585+11:002015-02-11T15:02:43.585+11:00Thanks for reading Mouse and congrats on getting t...Thanks for reading Mouse and congrats on getting through such a long post! I am happy to hear you will pack a straw to enjoy buko juice. I also came across bamboo straws recently too. I have since come across some great initiatives going on in the Philippines. There was even a zero waste fair last month http://www.zerowastefairphilippines.com/ Erin Rhoadshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13225185498560687113noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9033465662037447681.post-22135720668818975192015-02-09T15:38:38.866+11:002015-02-09T15:38:38.866+11:00Love your blog, and I'm going to pack some met...Love your blog, and I'm going to pack some metal straws for my buko juice! I spend several months each year in the Philippines (I'm Filipina-Australian), and it is pretty gut-wrenching to see vibrant street and beautiful spots dealing with the amount of waste generated and lack of a collective approach to limiting and disposing of it (and particularly the love affair of single item packaging that is on the one hand useful for those who need to buy small quantities). But at least some cities are rolling out the no plastic bags rule - it's a start!Mousehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01058532708009303492noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9033465662037447681.post-83611787079101450292015-01-30T13:47:49.115+11:002015-01-30T13:47:49.115+11:00All it takes is some forward thinking and preparin...All it takes is some forward thinking and preparing.
