I’m interested to find out if you think cloth maternity pads would suffice after delivery or if it’s necessary to have disposable ones? Reading pregnancy blogs, a lot of people make it sound like you need tons. Just wondered what your thoughts are on this.
Thanks!Astahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08686026089942335119noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9033465662037447681.post-46302608303211136722017-12-14T01:34:42.417+11:002017-12-14T01:34:42.417+11:00That is amazing. I know my particular story is slightly unusual, but my son actually died during his birth :( Thank God he was resuscitated, and there was every nurse in the hospital helping at that point... it should have been an emergency c section, and I almost lost him, but if it had been done at home... a doula would not have been able to save him. Also, we lived an hour away from the hospital.. that's just too far to have a home birth... I know it's an amazing experience but definitely not always the safer option!Aya Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11400079076068141263noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9033465662037447681.post-90711170458873461172017-11-28T10:50:05.951+11:002017-11-28T10:50:05.951+11:00I really appreciated reading this post! Your honesty and kindness are refreshing, and I applaud your efforts and above all, your acceptance for your experience. It makes the lifestyle seem so much more accessible to hear about the difficult parts of a pregnancy, and I can only imagine how difficult it was to experience that morning sickness while traveling on your honey moon! I was happy to see a picture of your sweet happy baby below the post, so I know all's well now. Thank you for sharing! It is horrible, that's for sure. I cannot imagine going through that while being in a foreign place.)
Your story has encouraged me immensely. Since my four year old daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, I have fallen off the rails a bit regarding waste minimisation. Getting used to our new life managing a chronic illness has taken all of my energy and brain space. There is a lot of waste that can't be avoided; disposable needle tips, insulin vials, alcohol wipes, disposable blood glucose sensors (which come in a LOT of plastic packaging), and soon we will be using three cannula insulin infusion sets per week (again, HEAPS of plastic)... but I've found myself caring less about the packaging of the food and other things I need to buy as well. I'm gradually getting back on track and working out how to live with our new normal while also cutting down unnecessary waste (and I found out that my local chemist accepts sharps disposed of in any second hand hard plastic containers with sealable lids. Small win!).

So, thanks for encouraging me to not be so hard on myself :) corrinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09707468844364192311noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9033465662037447681.post-53505855589024738472017-11-22T08:08:26.721+11:002017-11-22T08:08:26.721+11:00Good on you for sharing - we have to go a little e...Good on you for sharing - we have to go a little easier on ourselves or the lifestyle would not be sustainable!TestAccounthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05450454132014808228noreply@blogger.com
